Plot[]
lavian, a detective, meets a robot family—Robbi, his brother Hanso, and their mother Helena—in a restaurant near a recently exploded hospital. Helena explains that while she and her husband went to help at the explosion site, Robbi and Hanso disobeyed orders to stay home and ventured out. Robbi reveals he saw a sick robot near the explosion site, deeply affecting him. Flavian, with the family, visits their damaged neighborhood, searching for clues among the belongings of a homeless robot. Questioning various homeless individuals, Flavian learns that the robot Robbi saw, named Ernek, was sick and behaving strangely before being expelled from a nearby community of homeless robots. Ernek’s erratic behavior, ticking sounds, and rapid rusting raised concerns, and he was last seen near factories and shops before the explosion, leading Flavian to suspect Ernek played a role in the blast.
Flavian tracks the homeless robot community to an abandoned train station, where he meets Austin, a former police officer now living on the streets. Austin confirms Ernek’s strange behavior, including talking to himself and carrying a sick pet mouse, which made the community uneasy. Flavian warns the group to contact him if they notice similar symptoms in others, suggesting a deeper issue at play. Later, Flavian calls his wife Veya to update her on his progress and asks her to relocate for safety. He also requests that Police Chief Lenar monitor the station discreetly. Following another lead, Flavian visits a dental clinic connected to Meran, a character involved in the case, and discovers Meran had an implanted crown, which he urgently orders to be removed, suspecting it might be linked to the explosion’s cause.
